Raymond "Long John" Martorano, an Italian-American mobster and a made man in the Philadelphia Crime Family, died on January 17, 2002, at the age of 74. He was shot three times while driving his Lincoln Town Car near Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Martorano succumbed to his injuries several weeks later.
