According to his sister, Latoya Bailey, Allen was a devoted family man who spent his days caring for his two young sons and his girlfriend. He had recently moved to Wilkinsburg but was visiting the apartment building on Everton Street to drop off his girlfriend at the time of the shooting. The incident was a devastating blow to a family already grappling with loss; Allen's death was the second time in nine months that the Bailey family had lost a son to gun violence. His older brother, 27-year-old Anthony Bailey, had been killed in Pitcairn the previous March.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Pittsburgh police began an investigation, but no suspects were publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the murders of Allen Bailey and Richard Harris Jr. The authorities have appealed to the public for any information regarding the shooting. The case has left a void in the lives of his loved ones, particularly his two sons, Allen Jr. and Ayden, and his fiancée, Shakel. His family remembered him as a genuine and down-to-earth young man with a contagious laugh and a smile that could light up a room.
