Do you know who murdered Tameka Rene Hartley in 2005?
On the evening of January 21, 2005, a 25-year-old African-American female named Tameka Rene Hartley was standing on the front porch of her residence at 5904 NE 9th Avenue in Portland, Oregon. At approximately 7:15 p.m., the sense of security she should have felt at her own home was tragically shattered. A dark-colored, small to mid-sized two-door car was seen driving slowly northbound on 9th Avenue before multiple gunshots rang out from the passenger side of the vehicle, striking Tameka.

Emergency services were promptly called to the scene. Paramedics arrived and quickly transported her to a local hospital in a desperate attempt to save her life. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, Tameka Rene Hartley succumbed to the gunshot wound while in surgery. The sudden and violent nature of her death sent shockwaves through her community, leaving her family and friends to grapple with an immense and senseless loss.

In the aftermath of the shooting, witnesses reported seeing the suspect vehicle speeding away to the north on 9th Avenue. Law enforcement, including the Portland Police Bureau, initiated an investigation into the homicide. However, despite the witness accounts of the vehicle, the case has remained unsolved for years. There have been no arrests made in connection with Tameka Hartley's murder, and no suspects have been publicly identified.

The case eventually landed in the hands of the Cold Case Homicide Unit, a testament to the ongoing efforts to bring justice for Tameka and her loved ones. Investigators continue to seek information from the public, hoping that someone will come forward with the key detail that could lead to a breakthrough. Crime Stoppers of Oregon has offered a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest, a standing plea for anyone with knowledge of the crime to break the silence that has surrounded this case for too long. The community holds onto the hope that one day, the individuals responsible for ending a young woman's life will be held accountable for their actions.
