On January 22, 2014, 34-year-old Susie Wahpekeche was shot while driving near SW 15th Street and Interstate 44 in Oklahoma City. She was in the car with Ray Dean Johnson, who was also wounded in the attack. The shooting occurred when another vehicle approached them and opened fire, hitting both individuals. They managed to drive to the Integris Southwest Medical Center for help, but Wahpekeche succumbed to her injuries soon after arriving, while Johnson survived.
