Birmingham police are conducting a homicide investigation into the death of a 29-year-old Birmingham man.
The victim has been identified as Nathaniel Oakes Jr., according to a news release from police.
West Precinct officers responded to 608 27th Street Southwest at about 6 a.m. today to investigate a report of a deceased person. Upon arrival, officers found the victim lying unresponsive inside the residence.
