In the early evening of Thursday, July 23, 2026, tragedy struck the community of Vidalia, Georgia, when 17-year-old Za’Mariyah Nicole Robinson was killed in a violent shooting incident. The teenager was not the only victim of this horrific event; 20-year-old Xzavier Elijah Andrews also lost his life in the same incident. The shooting occurred at a residence located in the 1000 block of Easter Drive. Authorities were first alerted to the situation at approximately 6:14 p.m. when the Toombs County 911 center received a call reporting that shots had been fired.

Upon their arrival at the scene, officers from the Vidalia Police Department made a grim discovery inside the home. Both Za’Mariyah and Xzavier were found with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Tragically, their injuries were fatal, and both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene. The nature of the incident has been described in some reports as a domestic shooting. In the wake of the double homicide, the Vidalia Police Department requested the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to lead the inquiry into the deaths of the two young victims.

As the investigation was launched, the bodies of both Za’Mariyah Nicole Robinson and Xzavier Elijah Andrews were transported to the GBI Medical Examiner's Office for autopsies to be performed. Law enforcement officials have appealed to the public for any information that might be pertinent to the case, urging individuals to contact the GBI's Regional Investigative Office in Eastman or to submit anonymous tips through various channels. At the time of the initial reports, no suspects had been publicly identified, and no arrests had been made in connection with the shootings. The case remains an active and ongoing investigation, with the promise that upon its conclusion, the findings will be turned over to the Middle Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office for review and potential prosecution. This case represents a significant loss for the Vidalia community, as the lives of two young people were cut short, leaving behind grieving families and a public seeking answers and justice.
