In the early evening of March 16, 2024, in Vidalia, Georgia, the lives of two young people from the nearby town of Soperton were tragically cut short by gunfire. Eighteen-year-old Iesha Esha Wicker, a Black female who was pregnant at the time, and 23-year-old Justin Godfrey were in the area of East Jenkins Street and Epstein Street when shots rang out around 5:02 p.m. Both sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to Memorial Health Meadows Hospital, but they ultimately succumbed to their injurie ...
