On February 3, 2019, in Anchorage, Alaska, 47-year-old Brenda L. Smalley was fatally shot in a domestic violence incident. In the early hours of that Sunday, Anchorage police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on East Sixth Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Brenda and her husband, 61-year-old Danny Smalley, in a bathroom, both suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body.
