On a summer afternoon in Indianapolis, Indiana, the life of 19-year-old Turion Carpenter was cut short in a burst of gunfire. The incident unfolded on Sunday, August 2, 2026, around 1:30 p.m. in the 6200 block of East 11th Street, near East 10th Street and North Arlington Avenue. Responding to a report of a person shot, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers discovered a man in the common hallway of an apartment building with gunshot wounds.
