On September 4, 2023, authorities in Indianapolis, Indiana, responded to a residence on the city’s northwest side following reports regarding an unresponsive person. Upon arrival near Eagle Creek, officers discovered the body of Rashawn Lamar Finney, a 33-year-old Black male, inside his own home. He was found suffering from apparent trauma, and a subsequent investigation determined that he had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
