On a summer evening in Washburn, Tennessee, the life of 60-year-old Billy Nicely was cut short by an act of gun violence. The fatal encounter occurred on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Williams Creek Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency Access at Lays Bridge. A large group of people were present in the parking lot when Nicely became engaged in a verbal altercation with another individual.
