An early Fourth of July celebration in 2026 at a Natchez, Mississippi nightclub turned into a scene of violence that left two men dead and another person wounded. The Adams County Sheriff's Office was called to JROC's on Lower Woodville Road around 5:44 a.m. following multiple reports of shots being fired. Upon their arrival, deputies discovered the bodies of 31-year-old Michael Minor Jr. and 32-year-old Randolph Hannon. Both men had succumbed to gunshot wounds.
A third victim, Lashonda Harris, was also injured by gunfire but had been transported to Merit Health in a private vehicle before law enforcement arrived.
The initial hours of the investigation were met with a community still reeling from another deadly shooting that had occurred just hours earlier in nearby Centreville, though the two incidents were separate. As the Adams County Sheriff's Office delved into the double homicide at JROC's, their efforts soon led to a breakthrough. After an extensive investigation, an arrest was made in connection with the violent events that unfolded at the nightclub. The investigation into the death of Randolph Hannon is still active and ongoing.
Following the evidence gathered, investigators arrested a suspect identified as Norman. He has since been charged with the murder of Michael Minor Jr. and with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the shooting of Lashonda Harris. Detectives with the Adams County Sheriff's Office are continuing to review all the evidence in consultation with the District Attorney's Office to determine if any additional charges will be filed. The case against Norman represents the initial step towards seeking justice for the death of Michael Minor Jr. and the injuries sustained by Lashonda Harris as the community awaits further legal proceedings.
