In the early morning hours of July 5, 2026, the life of 34-year-old Devante O. "Tweety" Elliott was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire that erupted during a large Fourth of July weekend gathering in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. The shooting, which occurred just after midnight on Solomon Street, also claimed the life of 39-year-old Ronald Cleveland Brown III and left a third individual wounded.
