Jessie William Lundy, who was the Chief of Police in Leesville, South Carolina, tragically died on February 16, 1988, at the age of 30. His death was the result of an accidental gunshot wound sustained during a drug raid the previous day. Chief Lundy was inadvertently shot by a fellow officer during the operation. The incident occurred on February 15, 1988, and despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
