On July 9, 2024, 21-year-old Tyreana Lanae Terrell died after being shot during a fight at a gas station on the northwest side of Indianapolis. The incident occurred at the Marathon gas station located at 4720 W. 56th Street, at the intersection of West 56th Street and Georgetown Road. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were dispatched to the scene around 1:40 a.m. in response to a report of a person shot.
