In the quiet early morning hours of December 30, 2023, 35-year-old Tony Etheredge Jr. of Leesville, South Carolina, was lured to his death in a calculated and senseless act of violence. Etheredge, a man described by his family as hardworking and devoted, had just finished a shift at work when he was drawn to a location on Rish Road. There, a young woman named Cady Elise Keener was waiting, part of a premeditated plan to rob him of his 2014 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.
From Rish Road, Etheredge was directed to a more secluded area on Parrish Road, where the deadly trap was sprung.
Waiting in the shadows was Allon Triante Adams, who shot and killed Etheredge. After the fatal shot was fired, Adams and Keener stole Etheredge's truck, leaving his body behind. In an attempt to conceal their horrific crime, the pair later moved Etheredge's body, callously dumping it off a bridge into Black Creek near Pelion. The stolen Toyota Tacoma was eventually discovered abandoned in an open field on Truex Road in Leesville. Although Adams and Keener had meticulously cleaned the vehicle, crime scene investigators were able to find evidence of a bullet defect in the driver's seat where Etheredge had been shot. This, along with other forensic and digital evidence, including DNA and cell phone data, would ultimately link Adams to the murder. Investigators also uncovered video and audio recordings of Adams discussing the crime.
The investigation into Tony Etheredge Jr.'s disappearance and murder led to the arrests of 22-year-old Allon Triante Adams and 19-year-old Cady Elise Keener. They were both charged with murder, armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and desecration of human remains. A third individual, 23-year-old Roosevelt Erik Garway Jr., was also implicated and charged with accessory before the fact of murder and criminal conspiracy for his role in assisting Adams and Keener before the fatal shooting. During a five-day trial, the devastating impact of Etheredge's loss on his family was shared with the court. On November 21, 2025, a Lexington County jury took just 43 minutes to find Allon T. Adams guilty of murder, armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. He was subsequently sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Cady Elise Keener is currently awaiting trial on her pending charges, and Roosevelt Erik Garway Jr. is also being held in the Lexington County Detention Center. The investigation also connected Adams and Keener to another murder, that of Devon Tricoche, which occurred in November 2023.
