On December 30, 2023, 35-year-old Tony A. Etheredge Jr. of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, was tragically killed during an attempted robbery on Parrish Road in Leesville. Following the incident, his body was initially left near the scene but was later moved and discarded into Black Creek, where it was recovered by investigators on February 9, 2024.
