Death by Force

On July 7, 2023, 56-year-old William Mark Bedenbaugh of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, was fatally shot shortly after midnight in the 1400 block of Samaria Highway. According to the Lexington County Coroner's Office, Bedenbaugh was shot once in the upper left chest by another man and died at the scene. A forensic autopsy performed at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston confirmed that the cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the chest.
