In the early morning hours of July 8, 2026, the sounds of gunfire shattered the pre-dawn stillness in the 800 block of 6th Street, Northwest, in Washington, D.C. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's First District arrived at the scene around 1:24 a.m., they discovered a chaotic and violent scene.
