A 29 year old woman is found along the shoulder of Meadowbrook Parkway
On September 11, 1989, the body of 29-year-old Carmen Vargas was discovered along the southbound shoulder of the Meadowbrook State Parkway in Freeport, New York. A passerby noticed her remains approximately half a mile south of Merrick Road. Vargas, a petite Hispanic woman standing about 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 105 pounds, was found wearing a gray tank top and a mini skirt.
