In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Montgomery, Alabama, the life of 29-year-old Jamichael Manora was tragically cut short. On April 5, 2026, Manora was shot and killed in what authorities have described as a domestic dispute. The incident unfolded around 3:45 a.m. in the 4100 block of Piedmont Drive. First responders found Manora at the scene with a gunshot wound and transported him to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into Manora's
death led to a swift arrest. While still at the scene of the crime, police took 29-year-old William Samuel Slater into custody. Slater has since been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting. He was subsequently booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility and is being held without bond.
Following his passing, funeral services for Jamichael Manora were held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Revelation Baptist Church, with his burial following at Eastwood Cemetery.
