On October 22, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, resulting in the death of 12-year-old Damien Green. Green was found fatally shot in the 6700 block of South Lowe Avenue, just after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening. Police officers responded to the scene following a gunshot detection alert and discovered Green lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the head.
