On a summer evening in Montgomery, Alabama, the life of 26-year-old Rayonta Fuller Anderson was cut short in an act of violence. The male victim was at G's Place Bar & Grill on July 27, 2024, when a dispute escalated into a fatal shooting. Another individual was also struck by gunfire during the incident but survived their injuries.
Responding to the scene, law enforcement officers found Anderson with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
He was rushed to a local hospital for medical attention, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
In the days that followed, the Montgomery Police Department identified a suspect in the shooting. Devonte Xavion Archible, a 23-year-old resident of Prattville, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Task Force on July 29, 2024. Following his arrest, Archible was formally charged with one count of murder in connection with the death of Rayonta Fuller Anderson and one count of attempted murder for the injury to the second victim. He was subsequently incarcerated at the Montgomery County Detention Facility. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains ongoing.
