On July 8, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at the intersection of North Tryon Street and McCullough Drive in Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 35-year-old Stacy Deshawn Herring suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
