On May 18, 2023, at approximately 5:45 p.m., 17-year-old Raynard Milton Mahoney Jr. was fatally shot in the 7300 block of Larwill Lane in northwest Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers found Mahoney suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
