On July 15, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in South Bend, Indiana, resulting in the death of 46-year-old Michael Kotowski. The incident took place in the early morning hours, around 12:30 a.m., in the 1700 block of East Bowman Street. South Bend Police responded to a report of a shooting and found Michael Kotowski suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite being transported to the hospital, Michael succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead.
