On a summer day in South Bend, Indiana, a dispute escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of 28-year-old Harold 'Buck' Parks. The male victim was at Wade's Unique Touch Carwash, located at 1804 Lincolnway West, on July 5, 2008, when a verbal confrontation erupted between Parks, the people he was with, and another group. Following the initial argument, Parks departed from the carwash, only to return about half an hour later.
Upon his return, the tense situation took a fatal turn as shots were fired. Parks was struck by gunfire that reportedly came from the rear of the building and tragically died at the scene. Investigators believe the shooting may have been linked to an altercation that had occurred earlier that same morning at Stude's Nightclub.
In the aftermath of the shooting, numerous individuals have been interviewed by law enforcement as part of the ongoing investigation into Parks' death. However, despite these interviews, the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit continues to seek more information to bring resolution to the case. To date, no arrests have been publicly announced, and no specific suspects have been named in connection with the homicide of Harold Parks.
