Devonte Henri Owen Taylor, a 21-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on May 24, 2014, in Akron, Ohio. The incident occurred following an argument between Taylor and 23-year-old Darnell Secession on the sidewalk in the 600 block of Schiller Avenue near Taylor's apartment. During the altercation, Secession pulled out a gun and shot Taylor twice. Taylor was immediately taken to Akron City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
