Jervon Sloan, a 30-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on September 28, 2019, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Jervon was found with a gunshot wound lying in the street on Summit Avenue near South Tryon Street. Despite the efforts of emergency medical services, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident also resulted in another male victim, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center.
