In the fading afternoon light of Tuesday, March 31, 2026, a young man's life was cut short by violence in Brighton, a community within the metro area of Bessemer, Alabama. Isiah Kaine Thurman, a 21-year-old male, was discovered shot to death in the 4100 block of Bethany Avenue. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene to begin what would become a homicide investigation.
