In the early morning hours of March 3, 2026, the life of 47-year-old Russell Taylor, a Black male from North Little Rock, Arkansas, was tragically cut short. Police responded to reports of gunfire at the Foothills Apartments on Lakeview Road at approximately 6:26 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Taylor inside one of the apartments, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting quickly led to the identification of a suspect who was also present at the scene. Law enforcement took 41-year-old Courtney Taylor into custody in connection with the fatal shooting. In a tragic turn of events, it was later revealed that the victim and the suspect were brothers. The motive for the shooting has not been publicly released.
Following his arrest, Courtney Taylor was transported to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility. He is facing serious charges, including one count of capital murder and one count of possession of a firearm by certain persons. He is being held without bond and was scheduled for a court appearance on the morning of March 4.
