In the early morning hours of August 29, 2024, the city of North Little Rock, Arkansas, was rocked by a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 31-year-old Jordan Brown, a Black/African American male from Jacksonville. The incident unfolded near 100 Riverfront Park Drive, where police responded to a report of a person shot at approximately 3:18 a.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Jordan Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim, an adult female, was also found with gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital. She was initially listed in critical but stable condition and was expected to survive her injuries. The North Little Rock Police Department promptly launched a homicide investigation into the shooting, with detectives canvassing the area for evidence and conducting interviews to piece together the events that led to the deadly encounter.
The investigation led to the identification of two suspects. Authorities arrested 20-year-old James Green of Jacksonville, who is now facing charges of capital murder and attempted capital murder for his alleged involvement in the shooting that killed Brown and wounded the female victim. Green is currently being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Center. The North Little Rock Police Department is still actively searching for a second suspect, identified as 22-year-old Akashdeep Singh. Singh is wanted on charges of capital murder and criminal attempt to commit murder. Authorities have asked for the public's help in locating him and have urged anyone with information about the incident or Singh's whereabouts to contact the North Little Rock Police Department.
