In the afternoon of May 16, 2019, a burst of violence at a North Little Rock, Arkansas apartment complex brought a tragic end to the life of 38-year-old Tilton Cornelious McDonald, a Black male. The North Little Rock Police Department received a call about a shooting at the Wilmington Apartments, located at Donovan Briley, at approximately 2:33 p.m.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered that McDonald had been shot. He was quickly placed in a private vehicle and rushed to Baptist Memorial Hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts to save him, Tilton McDonald succumbed to his injuries a short time after arriving at the hospital.

The investigation into the shooting led detectives to a suspect, Duncan James McBeth III. In a significant break in the case, McBeth confessed to his involvement in the incident. He admitted to shooting McDonald multiple times during an altercation that took place in front of one of the apartments.

Following his confession, authorities arrested Duncan James McBeth III and charged him with first-degree murder in connection with McDonald's death. He was subsequently booked into the Pulaski County Jail, where he was held without bond. His initial court appearance was scheduled for May 21 in North Little Rock District Court.
