In North Little Rock, Arkansas, a children's birthday party took a tragic turn, ending in the death of 32-year-old Christina Clay. The incident unfolded on a Sunday evening, March 7, 2021, at a local Chuck E. Cheese restaurant on Landers Road, where friends and family had gathered to celebrate a toddler's birthday.
During the party, an argument erupted between Clay and another guest, 21-year-old Marlon Marbley Jr.
The disagreement escalated, and Clay, along with a group of other people, moved outside the restaurant. It was there that the confrontation reached its fatal conclusion. Marbley allegedly followed the group and shot Clay multiple times with a semiautomatic pistol before fleeing the scene. Emergency services were called, but Christina Clay succumbed to her injuries and died.
The day after the shooting, Marlon Marbley Jr. surrendered to the North Little Rock police. He was subsequently arrested and is facing a capital murder charge for his alleged role in the death of Christina Clay. At the time of his arrest, he was being held in jail without bond.
