On February 23, 2020, at approximately 12:45 p.m., the North Little Rock Police Department responded to a shooting incident in the 1800 block of Ben Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two deceased individuals, both adult Black males. One victim was found inside a residence at 1807 Ben Street, while the other was located outside the residence. The victims were identified as 39-year-old Fred Wesson and 44-year-old Avery Cooksey.
