On December 12, 2023, 46-year-old Dwight C. Jones was fatally shot at his residence on Apache Trail in the Westgate subdivision of Fort Mitchell, Alabama. The incident occurred shortly before 9 a.m., and Jones was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:55 a.m.
