In the early morning hours of March 8, 2026, a burst of gunfire on West Front Street in Evergreen, Alabama, shattered the night and left two young men dead. The incident, which unfolded around 12:40 a.m., resulted in the immediate death of 19-year-old Melvontaie Loveless of Greenville.

Among the several others who were wounded in the chaotic scene was 20-year-old Jakale Herbert. He was quickly transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, for treatment of his critical injuri ...
