In the quiet town of Evergreen, Alabama, a family dispute on September 11, 2023, ended in the tragic death of 46-year-old Douglas James Rogers. The male victim suffered fatal injuries from multiple gunshot wounds following a heated altercation with his own brother.
According to the Conecuh County Sheriff's Office, the argument between the siblings escalated to a physical fight. At some point during the struggle, Timothy Rogers allegedly produced a firearm and shot his brother, Douglas.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, but Douglas James Rogers succumbed to his injuries.
Following an investigation into the shooting, authorities arrested Timothy Rogers. He was subsequently charged with one count of murder in connection with his brother's death. Timothy Rogers was taken into custody and booked into the Conecuh County Jail, where he was held on a $1 million bond. The case is now awaiting further legal proceedings.
