On December 23, 2016, John Stevens, aged 46, tragically lost his life in Marathon, Florida. The incident occurred following an altercation between Stevens and his friend, Gary Moore, at Moore's residence. According to reports, Stevens had been staying in a travel trailer on Moore's property for the past four months.
