In the early morning hours of July 22, 2015, a tragic event unfolded on South 9th Street in Newark, New Jersey. Hassan Scott, a 37-year-old male, was beginning his day, preparing to take his three young children, aged 2, 4, and 9, to daycare. As they were leaving their home and getting into their car around 7:45 a.m., a gunman approached them.
