in Lafayette on October 2, 2002, Clarence was a man who deeply valued his connections with friends and family. Remembered as a loyal and compassionate friend, he was a good listener who made sure those around him felt supported. The circumstances of his death unfolded in the driveway of a home on Windsor Drive. Investigators believe that Clarence was shot inside a vehicle during a drug transaction that turned violent. After the shooting, it is alleged that the suspects removed him from the car and left him in the driveway before running him over as they fled the scene.
Swiftly following the incident, the Lafayette Police Department identified and arrested two suspects in Jennings. Xzavier Dyson, 27, of Lake Charles, and Martina Mouton, 21, of Abbeville, were taken into custody and booked into the Jeff Davis Parish Jail. Both are facing charges of first-degree murder and are awaiting extradition back to Lafayette to face legal proceedings.
