On the morning of March 7, 2023, 38-year-old African American male Montravious "Bubba Love" Re'Nard Gibson Sr. was found deceased on Furby Street near its intersection with South Street in Alexandria, Louisiana. Responding to reports of gunfire at approximately 8:17 a.m., Alexandria Police Department officers arrived at the scene to discover Gibson's body. The victim, known for his friendly demeanor and work as a meat cutter at M&M Meat Market, was pronounced dead at the scene.
