In the late hours of a Saturday night in Natchitoches, Louisiana, the life of 18-year-old Justin Walker, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On May 28, 2016, at approximately 11:09 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the night on Thomas Street, near the intersection of Howell Street. When officers from the Natchitoches Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered Justin Walker suffering from several gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders acted quickly, and Walker was
airlifted to University Health in Shreveport with injuries that were described as life-threatening. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Justin Walker succumbed to his injuries the following day, on May 29, 2016. The violent death of the young man prompted an investigation by the Natchitoches Police Department.
The investigation led detectives to a suspect, Robert Deshawn Clark, a Black male born on October 20, 1995. On the morning of June 2, 2016, at around 10:30 a.m., detectives with the Natchitoches Police Department arrested Clark without incident outside of his residence. He was subsequently charged with First Degree Murder in connection with the shooting death of Justin Walker.
