In the early morning hours of a Sunday in Natchitoches, Louisiana, the life of Jerome Pier, a 38-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On April 11, 2021, at approximately 7:03 a.m., officers from the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of Rowena Street following reports of a shooting.
