In the early morning hours of July 6, 2025, chaos erupted in the 300 block of Keyser Avenue in Natchitoches, Louisiana, as the sound of gunshots pierced the night. Latravion Stallworth, an 18-year-old Black male, was caught in the violence. When officers from the Natchitoches Police Department, deputies from the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office, and troopers with the Louisiana State Police arrived at the scene around 1:41 a.m., they discovered a harrowing sight: six individuals suffering
from gunshot wounds.
First responders immediately began rendering aid to the victims. Tragically, Latravion Stallworth's injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced deceased by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner's Office. The five other victims were rushed to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for treatment. While three were later released, two others required transfer to hospitals in Caddo and Rapides Parishes, where they were listed in stable condition. Investigators quickly cordoned off the area, speaking with witnesses and collecting numerous pieces of evidence to be sent for forensic analysis.
The investigation into the shooting led Natchitoches Police Department detectives to execute several search warrants throughout the parish. These efforts culminated in the arrests of multiple suspects. On July 17, 2025, police took 19-year-old Shadarious White and 18-year-old Jermaurion Simmons, both of Natchitoches, into custody. Both men are facing serious charges, including Second Degree Murder and Attempted Second Degree Murder. A third individual was also arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. The Natchitoches Police Department has continued its investigation, urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
