In the late summer of 2015, the community of Natchitoches, Louisiana, was rocked by the tragic death of 17-year-old DeMarcus Pye. A young man with his life ahead of him, Pye was fatally wounded in a shooting that occurred on Labor Day, September 7th. The incident cut short a promising future and left a family and community in mourning. The senseless act of violence prompted an immediate and thorough investigation by the Natchitoches Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division.
