In the late hours of a September Tuesday in Natchitoches, Louisiana, tragedy struck a local family, forever altering their lives. On September 24, 2024, 17-year-old Matthew Daniels was fatally shot on July Street, his life cut short by an act of gun violence. The incident was part of a series of three separate shootings that occurred within a violent eight-hour span in Natchitoches Parish, leaving one person dead.
