On a Friday afternoon, February 13, 2026, the life of 22-year-old Nehemia Jamaane Williams was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Northwest, Washington, D.C. The incident unfolded at approximately 2:15 p.m. in the 2600 block of 14th Street, Northwest, where Williams was discovered inside a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Metropolitan Police Department's Third District officers were the first to respond to the scene following reports of a shooting outside a gas station.
Upon their arrival, they found Williams in critical condition. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel were quickly dispatched and transported him to a local hospital. Despite all life-saving efforts, Williams succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the case as a homicide. As of now, authorities have not released any information regarding a suspect or suspects in the shooting, and no arrests have been made. The case remains an unsolved homicide.
