In a tragic turn of events on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, Brande N. Summers, a 49-year-old woman from Macon, Georgia, was found deceased in her home in the Lake Wildwood neighborhood. The discovery was made after a Bibb County sheriff's deputy, who was at the residence to serve an eviction notice, heard gunshots emanating from within the house. This prompted a significant law enforcement response, including the deployment of a SWAT team and hostage negotiators, leading to a standoff that lasted for approximately two hours.
