Melanie Juliet Powers, a 37-year-old African American woman from Macon, GA, was tragically murdered on April 26, 2020. Powers, who was eight months pregnant at the time, was found dead in her home on Radio Drive with a gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred in the early morning hours, and her 11-year-old son, O'Shay Powers Williams, was present in the home during the attack.
