On a Friday evening in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the life of 21-year-old Markeise Gipson was cut short in a burst of gunfire. The shooting occurred just after 8:30 p.m. on February 20, 2026, in the parking lot of the Two Brothers One Stop convenience store located at 2215 S. Blake Street. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Gipson lying unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The violence of that evening also left two other adult males wounded. They were quickly transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officials later reported that both individuals were in stable condition with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. They are searching for a gray, wide-body Dodge Charger with a black roof, a spoiler, and a hood scoop.
